YouNotes — Note-Taking That Stays Findable | younotes.co
A 15-30 minute weekly review that keeps your notes current and findable, step by step.
Spaced review research shows an unreviewed note loses most of its recall value within days. A weekly 15-30 minute review is the common practical floor: shorter sessions do not cover a normal week of note-taking, and longer sessions are hard to sustain week after week.
Start by opening the notes you created in the last seven days. Read each one and add a one-line summary if you did not write one when you created the note. This takes about 5 minutes for a week of normal note-taking and is the single highest-value step in the entire review.
On narrow screens, swipe or scroll the plate sideways.
Next, check for notes that were never linked or filed. A Zettelkasten note that has no link to another note is incomplete; a Cornell page with an empty summary strip needs one written now, not later. Unlinked notes never surface when you follow links from related notes.
Migrate unfinished tasks if you use a bullet journal. The daily log review takes 5-15 minutes; the weekly pass catches anything that slipped through daily reviews. Move every unfinished task forward rather than dropping it — dropping is how tasks disappear silently.
Close by picking one note from the pile at random and testing whether you can find it by its title alone. If you cannot, rename it now. The naming rule matters more than any folder structure because search reads titles, not folder paths.
